About Us

Taylor Engineering, Inc. is an employee-owned firm based in Jacksonville, Florida with branch offices in West Palm Beach, FL; Tampa, FL; and Baton Rouge, LA. The firm has provided specialized technical services in water resources engineering and environmental services since 1983. Specific areas of expertise include: coastal engineering including shore protection, flood control and ecosystem restoration, hydrology and hydraulics, dredging engineering, navigation, and dredged material management, port, marina, hydraulic structure design, groundwater modeling, monitoring water quality, modeling and monitoring sediment transport and bridge scour, permitting, gis, construction administration, and emergency response services. The Taylor Engineering staff includes registered engineers, engineer interns, scientists, and technical editors. Their educational and professional experience encompasses the disciplines of civil, coastal, environmental, water resources, and port engineering; marine biology and chemistry; Geographic Information System (GIS); and computer science applications.

Tampa office has the following position available: DREDGING ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

  1. Civil and coastal engineering involving major US Navigation projects. Tasks include design, analysis/investigations, conceptual & feasibility studies, construction plans & specifications, data processing, report writing, material and cost estimating, and construction oversight.
  2. Permitting and interfacing with regulatory agencies
  3. Subcontracting hydrographic surveys and geotechnical data collection
  4. Volumetric determinations of in situ materials for dredging design associated with channel dredging or deepening, harbor or shoreline improvements, dredge containment areas, flood control structures, dredging at dock sites, and analyses/investigations for dredge material quality and prospective disposal sites
  5. Business development in the area of dredged material management.

 Qualifications:

  1. BS/MS Degree in a technical field related to Dredging Engineering
  2. 2-5 plus years experience in marine and dredge management projects
  3. Strong communications and technical writing skills
  4. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
  5. AutoCAD & CORMIX, USACE Subsurface Contaminant Transport / FATE Models (i.e. STFATE), PLUMES, experience preferred. 
  6. Permitting, land development, earthwork, dredging, and/or environmental engineering experience a plus.
  7. P.E. and project management experience a plus.

Excellent communication skills required and the potential to assist in business development, as well as discovering solutions for clients, presenting to clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.

PE or ability to obtain PE required.
